Abstract

As part of a strategy to internationalize the curriculum, a mirror class was implemented in the Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Educación program  at the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa during the 2025–2026 academic year. The pedagogical intervention was carried out in collaboration with the Universidad Nacional de Catamarca and involved 27 students from Mexico and four from Argentina. The initiative responds to the limitations on physical mobility resulting from the security risks that affected Sinaloa during the 2024–2025 academic year, a period in which in-person activities were suspended. The methodology included the joint planning of synchronous sessions and the use of digital tools such as Padlet and Classroom, as well as the application of the interview-centered qualitative life history method as a research instrument, and an assessment of the model’s viability as an alternative for internationalization without physical mobility. The results demonstrated the development of research, intercultural, and ethical competencies among the participants. It is concluded that the mirror class served as a tool for pedagogical resilience that made possible to maintain educational quality in adverse contexts, and that this model proved transferable to other social science disciplines in college institutions.
