System for reviewing abstracts at the Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Forenses

Abstract

The evaluation of academic papers is an important task in the organization of the Congreso de Ciencias Forenses. To systematize all the activities involved in this process, a system capable of managing all the information centrally with the existing infrastructure at the Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Forenses was designed, programmed, configured and implemented. For the development of this system, free software tools such as PHP, Bootstrap and MariaDB were used on a server with a Linux operating system. The implementation involved analyzing extensions and tools to provide security, performance, and functionality at the programming, server, and database levels. Finally, the implementation of this custom-planned system significantly improved efficiency and response times, as well as reducing the workload for the evaluation of academic work and decision-making by the academic committee.
